Each question has a response area based on its type with the tools you need to answer it. You might select an option, enter a number, write an explanation, or upload your work. Some questions share a passage, diagram.

Question Response Types

Choose a guide for the type of response shown in your question.

Choice Questions

Select one answer or every option that applies.

Numerical Answers

Enter a value using the requested units and precision.

Fill in the Blank

Complete the missing parts of a sentence or table.

Written Responses

Combine explanations, calculations, and supporting work.

Math Expressions

Enter fractions, equations, and other notation.

Drawing Responses

Sketch and label your answer on the whiteboard.

Image Responses

Upload photos of handwritten work or diagrams.

File Attachments

Include a PDF, text file, or source-code file with your response.

Save and Move Between Questions

Uflo saves your response after you stop editing for five seconds. It also saves pending changes when you move to another question or submit. Give your latest changes time to save before closing the page.

Checkmarks show saved responses. They do not indicate whether those answers are correct.

Use Previous, Next, or the question numbers to move through the assessment. When available, Socratic Tutor helps you work through questions without giving away the answer.

The Socratic Tutor sits beside the question and your response.

In assessments that require questions to be answered in order, selecting Next and confirming Continue prevents you from returning to that question.
When multiple attempts are allowed, Paste Previous Response lets you reuse your best-scoring answer for a question. It is available for written, math-expression, drawing, and image responses when you have a previous attempt for that question.

Open the Question in a New Attempt

Start another attempt, then open the question you want to revisit.

Bring in Your Previous Answer

Select Paste Previous Response above the response editor.

The button appears above your current response.

A confirmation popup identifies the previous attempt. Select Paste to copy its answer, or Cancel to keep your current response.

Confirm before replacing your current response.

Pasting replaces your current response to that question.

Revise Your Work

The previous answer now appears in the response area, ready to edit. Use your grading feedback, if available, to improve the copied answer before submitting.

The copied answer replaces the current response and remains editable.

Response Tools

The editor guide explains how to organize text, equations, images, and other blocks. For individual tools, see the math editor and whiteboard guides. To include work completed on paper, upload an image or send photos from your phone.

Common Questions

Reset Response, when available, replaces your current answer with the question’s starting content. Use it only when you want to discard your changes and start again.
Keep the page open and check your internet connection. If the problem continues, select Support in the sidebar and include the course name and a description of what happened.

Submit Your Assessment

Review your answers and send your completed work for grading.
