# Answering Questions
> Work through assessment questions, keep track of your responses, and build on previous attempts.
Each question has a response area based on its type with the tools you need to answer it. You might select an option, enter a number, write an explanation, or upload your work. Some questions share a passage, diagram.
## Question Response Types
Choose a guide for the type of response shown in your question.
Select one answer or every option that applies.
Enter a value using the requested units and precision.
Complete the missing parts of a sentence or table.
Combine explanations, calculations, and supporting work.
Enter fractions, equations, and other notation.
Sketch and label your answer on the whiteboard.
Upload photos of handwritten work or diagrams.
Include a PDF, text file, or source-code file with your response.
## Save and Move Between Questions
Uflo saves your response after you stop editing for five seconds. It also saves pending changes when you move to another question or submit. Give your latest changes time to save before closing the page.
Use **Previous**, **Next**, or the question numbers to move through the assessment.
When available, [Socratic Tutor](/students/assessments/using-the-socratic-tutor) helps you work through questions without giving away the answer.
In assessments that require questions to be answered in order, selecting **Next** and confirming **Continue** prevents you from returning to that question.
When multiple attempts are allowed, **Paste Previous Response** lets you reuse your best-scoring answer for a question. It is available for written, math-expression, drawing, and image responses when you have a previous attempt for that question.
[Start another attempt](/students/assessments/starting-an-attempt#start-your-attempt), then open the question you want to revisit.
Select **Paste Previous Response** above the response editor.
A confirmation popup identifies the previous attempt. Select **Paste** to copy its answer, or **Cancel** to keep your current response.
Pasting replaces your current response to that question.
The previous answer now appears in the response area, ready to edit. Use your [grading feedback](/students/assessments/viewing-results#review-feedback), if available, to improve the copied answer before submitting.

To include work completed on paper, [upload an image](/general/tools/uploading-images) or [send photos from your phone](/general/tools/uploading-from-phone).
## Common Questions
**Reset Response**, when available, replaces your current answer with the question's starting content. Use it only when you want to discard your changes and start again.
Keep the page open and check your internet connection. If the problem continues, select **Support** in the sidebar and include the course name and a description of what happened.
Review your answers and send your completed work for grading.
